Founded in February 2012, the Save Nubia Project (SNP) has advocated for the protection of ancient Kushite and Nubian archaeological sites in northern Sudan threatened by major dam construction. Through its efforts, the project successfully documented and raised international awareness about the profound historical significance of these endangered sites.
Due to the outbreak of civil war in Sudan in April 2023, SNP operations are currently on hold. While we hope future intervention will be unnecessary, we remain prepared to reactivate our work should dam projects resume following the conflict. Further updates will be shared as the situation develops.
